An Amherst man who told police he had "four drinks" at a nearby bar was charged with felony driving while intoxicated in the City of Tonawanda early Saturday morning.
Michael J. Thomann, 43, of Schoelles Road, was pulled over after making an illegal wide turn off Hill Street onto Main Street about 4:15 a.m., police said. He later was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent, twice the state's legal limit.
Thomann was charged with felony DWI after it was confirmed he had a DWI conviction in the Town of Tonawanda in 2008, Capt. Fredrick Foels said.
