GOP has amnesia on court nominees
The Republican Senate leaders were taking turns in front of cameras, all complaining that their Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, was being denied a seat on the court by the Democratic opponents’ filibuster. This, they all complained, was unfair and unprecedented because the president was elected and his nominee should get a positive vote. In most cases they do. In a sane world, I would have to agree. But these very same senators refused to even give Merrick Garland, who was also an elected president’s choice, a hearing and a chance for a vote. It was hard to swallow. Apparently these Republicans are all very good at swallowing alternative facts and bad wine.
