Gold Wynn buys Amherst Street apartment building

An Oklahoma apartment management company that's been snapping up Buffalo-area buildings has bought another one, adding an 18-unit complex on Amherst Street to its growing local portfolio.

Gold Wynn Residential LLC of Tulsa, part of the Wynn Group of Companies, paid $915,000 to acquire a three-story brick apartment building at 1011-1015 Amherst St. from Michael Wiseman of Williamsville.

Constructed in 1935, the 13,164-square-foot garden-style building sits near the corner of Amherst Street and Delaware Avenue, with an eight-car garage and 10 additional parking spaces..

The 40-year-old Wynn Group, a family-owned business with holdings in the Tulsa, Buffalo and Los Angeles markets, operates more than 4,500 residential apartments and 3 million square feet of commercial space.

The company owns the Goldwynn Building – formerly Buffalo Athletic Club – at 69 Delaware Ave., Manhattan Square Apartments at 190 Manhattan Place, the Pan American Apartments at 1016 Amherst St., the Bennet Apartments at 20 E. Morris Ave., and apartment buildings at 1165 Delaware Ave. and 844-900 Richmond Ave.
