A Buffalo man was sentenced Wednesday in Erie County Court to six years in prison for selling heroin.
Joell Brown pleaded guilty in September to two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, but his sentencing was adjourned to allow him time to recover from a gunshot wound, according to the Erie County District Attorney's office.
Authorities said that on two separate occasions in July 2015, Brown sold $100 worth of heroin to an undercover narcotics officer. Both sales occurred at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Barker Street in Buffalo.
The Cheektowaga Police Department was involved in the investigation, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said.
Assistant District Attorney James W. Mansour II prosecuted the case.
