Homeroom Announcements: Tuesday's big games & more

Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Tuesday

1. Girls lacrosse - Mount St. Mary at Niagara Wheatfield, 5:30 p.m.

Mount St. Mary Academy heads to Niagara Wheatfield in a public-private showdown to open their respective seasons. The Thunder had a 14-6 record last season and finished as the runner-up to Mount Mercy. The Falcons were 11-6 and finished in the middle of the pack in the Class B division.

2. Baseball - Niagara Wheatfield at Grand Island, 4:45 p.m.

Grand Island hosts Niagara Wheatfield in one of four games Tuesday that kick off play in the Niagara Frontier League. Other NFL games on the schedule include Lockport at Kenmore West, Niagara Falls at North Tonawanda and Kenmore East at CSAT. Those three games start at 4:45 p.m. as well.

3. Boys lacrosse - Lancaster at Williamsville North, 7 p.m.

Lancaster (0-0) visits Williamsville North (0-1) in a nonleague matchup under the lights at North's new turf complex. The Spartans, who went 14-4 last year, lost its season opener to St. Francis on Friday, 10-5. This is the first game of the year for the Legends, who went 11-7 last season.

4. Softball - Grand Island at Niagara Wheatfield, 4:45 p.m.

Niagara Frontier League softball also kicks off league play with four games on the schedule. The top game of the day has Grand Island visiting Niagara Wheatfield. Kenmore East hosts CSAT, Lockport hosts Kenmore West and Niagara Falls hosts North Tonawanda in the other three games all at 4:45 p.m.
