JAMESTOWN -- A man faces kidnapping, drug and weapons charges after he allegedly held a man at gunpoint earlier this month in his residence, according to authorities.
Mark E. Diers Jr., 39, of Norwood Avenue, has been charged with kidnapping, menacing, criminally using drug paraphernalia and reckless endangerment in connection with the alleged incident on March 12, according to authorities.
Diers was also charged with criminal use of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of endangering the welfare of child, authorities said.
According to Jamestown Police, Diers mentally and verbally abused the victim he had confined to a residence, and threatened to use a firearm against the man.
Police executed a search warrant at Diers' home and seized illegal weapons and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Jamestown Police described the residence as being unsanitary, with animals inside, some of which were illegal to possess.
The residence was condemned by the Jamestown Department of Development and the illegal animals seized by the Department of Environmental Conservation, police said.
Diers was arrested and taken to the city jail, pending arraignment. Police said their investigation of the case was continuing.
