Through a week-long roll-out on Twitter, local National Premier Soccer League club FC Buffalo announced its preliminary roster for the 2017 season, which begins May 20.
With the roster expected to have a more local bent this season under the new coaching staff of Frank Butcher, Casey Derkacz and John Grabowski, the players announced largely fit that mold.
The amateur side first noted the returns of Chris Walter, whose 51 appearances are the most in club history, and Kendell McFayden, a former Rochester Rhino who's spent at least part of four different seasons with FC Buffalo.
While the Hartwick duo of Jack Donaldson and Johnny McBeth will not return in 2017, fellow Scot Kieran Toland has been welcomed back for his second season, just ahead of his senior campaign at St. Bonaventure.
The roster is subject to change, as NPSL teams are allowed to add players through mid-season, although FC Buffalo intends to field fewer than 30 players this summer, a significant drop from the 40-plus in previous years.
Here's the roster breakdown, by position, then by current/former school, followed by previous number of FCB appearances, if applicable:
