Lawmakers should walk in their constituents’ shoes
The recent power outage hit home for many of us who were without heat for a few days. Poor us! And now our politicians are proposing to take heat away from those who can’t afford it.
As Mitch Albom noted in Sunday’s op-ed column, “What we struggle to do without for days is what people elsewhere do without for a lifetime.”
We bet that if our Congress people walked in the shoes of the less fortunate for awhile, they would keep the heat switch “on.”
