Buffalo police: Grand Island man involved in four hit-and-runs in 30 minutes

A Grand Island man was involved in four hit-and-run crashes within 30 minutes on Sunday, injuring two people, Buffalo police reported.

Officers spotted William Marshall, 51, driving recklessly in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Genesee Street a little before 3 p.m., police said.

While Marshall was driving south on Jefferson at a high rate of speed, he struck a vehicle stopped at a red light, according to police. Marshall then drove on the sidewalk, hitting two signs and nearly hitting pedestrians, police said. After fleeing from that scene, Marshall a short time later was involved in another hit-and-run crash in the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Marshall was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving, police said.

Police did not disclose the nature or seriousness of the injuries suffered in the crashes.
