Homeroom Announcements: Saturday's big games & more

We know there's no homeroom today. But we're up and ready to go.

Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Saturday

1. Girls basketball - NYSPHSAA semifinals at Hudson on Valley Community College in Troy

Class D: Panama (19-5) vs. IV-South Kortright Central (24-0), 10:45 a.m.

Panama earned its third straight trip to the final four with a regional win over Batavia Notre Dame, where it lost in the semifinals the past two seasons. The Panthers fell in the championship game last year, 62-60, to X-Heuvelton, the two-time defending state champs. Heuvelton two years ago beat South Kortright, which is currently No. 1 in the state. Panama is No. 3. Sunday's final is at 10 a.m.

The trio of freshman Natalie Angeletti (15.1 points per game., 11.9 rebounds per game.), sophomore Madalyn Bowen (12.5 ppg) and senior Nicole Johnson (11.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg) lead the Panthers offensively. The Rams are led by by seniors Lexi DuBois and Brianna Laing, who both passed the 1,000-point plateau this season.
