Hostel should not be closed, forced to move
I was very troubled to read the article about Hostel Buffalo-Niagara and the possibility of it having to move and/or be shut down. Whatever happened to us being called the City of Good Neighbors? Maybe we should be called the City of Profiteers instead.
When will we be able to make decisions for the good of our community and for the well-being of visitors based on our hearts – not on our wallets or stock portfolios? With so many buildings already converted into condos and many more in the making, do we still need even more?
Continuing its current use and with the possibility of also providing affordable extended-stay units, what a selfless gift this would be, instead of a selfish one if bought by a private developer. I think we should have some meetings open to the public so we can voice our opinions and support this valuable organization.
