The 2017 Decorators' Show House is coming up fast, and tickets are now available. This year’s house is the August Feine House, 766 Ellicott St., on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
Presale tickets, $20, can be purchased until April 28 at jlbuffalo.org, at all Wegmans locations, or at the Junior League of Buffalo's office, 45 Elmwood Ave. They can be purchased at the door for $25. Private tours are also available.
Decorators’ Show House is a major community fundraiser presented by the Junior League of Buffalo and The Buffalo News that takes place every other spring. The Junior League estimates that more than 20,000 people will visit the Show House during its three-week run, April 29-May 21.
The 7,800-square-foot home is being restored as part of the Expansion Campaign for Kevin Guest House, located next door. Kevin Guest House purchased the house from a local law firm in 2015 and began its restoration. It was selected as the 2017 Decorators' Show House last fall. You can read more about it in my column from last November.
A few details about the 2017 Decorators' Show House from the Junior League:
- More than 40 local decorators, artists and landscapers were selected to transform the house's 33 spaces. M P Caroll Hardwood, a major Show House sponsor, is refurbishing and replacing wood throughout the home.
- When the renovation of the August Feine House is complete, it will be renamed the Russell J. Salvatore Hospitality House on the Kevin Guest House Campus. It will provide additional housing for families and patients traveling to Buffalo for medical care
- Since 1981, Decorators’ Show Houses have yielded proceeds totaling $3.975 million to benefit 21 local cultural and human service organizations. Applications for the proceeds of the 19th Show House are expected to be available at the end of 2017.
