Rochester man pleads guilty to robberies in Buffalo area

A Rochester man pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court to robbing four banks and three federal credit unions in both the Buffalo and Rochester areas last year, officials said.

Khiry T. Aiken, 26, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced June 12, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Aiken admitted to robbing the financial institutions between April and September, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Brett A. Harvey.

They included the First Niagara Bank, 1989 Clinton St. in Buffalo, on Aug. 9, a Northwest Savings Bank, 3517 Union Road in Cheektowaga, on Aug. 24, and a First Niagara Bank, 3051 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, on Sept. 13, officials said.
