Donation locations set for displaced residents of Lafayette apartment fire

Donations for the more than 80 residents of the Lafayette Apartments who were displaced by a fire Saturday are being accepted at West Side Community Services, 161 Vermont St.

Clothing and small donations will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday. On Saturday the community center will be open for donations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations are also being accepted at West Buffalo Charter, 113 Lafayette Ave., said school leader Andrea Todoro.

Organizers are looking for space to store larger furniture donations.

Sean Mulligan, who works for Niagara District Common Council Member David A. Rivera, said plans are being finalized for a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. March 21 at Lafayette High School.
