5 displaced by house fire near Buffalo-Cheektowaga border

The Red Cross is helping five people after a fire Monday night on Fisher Street damaged two homes.

The blaze at 27 Fisher, just north of Genesee Street near the Cheektowaga border, was reported shortly after 9 p.m., according to the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.

The two-story home sustained an estimated $65,000 in damages. The home at 25 Fisher sustained about $7,500 in damages, the Alarm Office said.

One adult and four children are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
