Heading to Buffalo for March Madness? Here's a sampling of places to stay.

Thousands of people are expected to filter into Buffalo this week to attend the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament at KeyBank Center, and all those people are going to need someplace to stay.

Prices at downtown hotels reflect the demand.  The influx is expected to peak Wednesday and Thursday, the day before and the day of the tournament's start. The sports tourists will likely be joined by local St. Patrick's Day revelers Friday, further increasing demand. The competition for lodging has driven up hotel prices during what is usually a low season.

It's affecting Airbnb hosts, too. While most Airbnb booking rates are stable, several listings are full Wednesday through Saturday.

Here's a sampling of what downtown hotels were seeking as of Friday for rooms during the tournament, according to hotel websites and search engines such as Priceline and Kayak.
