Teen flagged for stop sign violation in car stolen in Town of Hamburg

A 17-year-old  girl pulled over after failing to heed a stop sign at Herkimer and Arkansas streets late Friday is facing stolen car charges, Buffalo police said.

The  18th Street suspect, who had only a learner's permit, was pulled over about 10:45 p.m., when police determined the car was stolen in the Town of Hamburg on Feb. 26.

The teen was charged with fourth- and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She remained in  Erie County Holding Center Saturday.
