Edna O'Neill, homemaker, former West Seneca resident

June 1, 1924 – March 7, 2017

Edna O’Neill, a former West Seneca resident, died Tuesday in Sarah Reed Retirement Center, Erie, Pa. She was 92.

Born in Buffalo, one of 10 children, the former Edna Mae Donovan was a graduate of South Park High School. A homemaker and mother of six, she lived in Erie, Pa., for several years while raising her family. For more than 30 years, she also was a summer resident of Snyder Beach in Farnham.

Her husband of 63 years, John E. “Jack” O’Neill, a district sales manager with Frigidaire Corp., died in 2007. One of her brothers, Richard J. Donovan, who died in 1988, was Buffalo’s first police artist.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Rodgers, Ann Lewis and Patty Manns; three sons, Jack, Dan and Mike; two brothers, Thomas F. and James E.; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 a.m. Monday in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 4220 Seneca St., West Seneca.
