14-year-old boy charged in hit-and-run involving stolen car

A 14-year-old boy was behind the wheel of a car Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run with minor injuries on the city's West Side on Wednesday morning.

The collision happened near Niagara Street and Carolina Street at about 8:30 a.m., Buffalo police said. A short time later, officers pulled over a 2004 Hyundai on Delaware Avenue, between Chippewa and West Tupper streets.

The car was reported stolen in connection with a domestic incident, police posted on Facebook.

The Buffalo teen was charged as a juvenile with criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Police did not release any further information about who was injured.
