West Herr Vehicle Accessories moving to Southwestern Boulevard

West Herr Vehicle Accessories is moving to a more visible spot in Hamburg.

West Herr Automotive Group bought 4207 Southwestern Blvd. for $500,000, according to county property records. The property is at the intersection of Southwestern and Big Tree Road, just east of McKinley Parkway.

West Herr Vehicle Accessories plans to move there in April from 5140 Camp Road. The business sells and services accessories including running boards, remote starters, spray-in bed liners and floor mats. Ten of the 17 employees who work for the vehicle accessories business will be based at the new location.

The accessory business has recorded a 28 percent increase in sales over the past two years, creating an opportunity to grow into a standalone business, according to West Herr. The dealer group said a "more strategic product mix" contributed to that sales growth, and expects to attract both West Herr and non-West Herr customers to buy products at its new location.

The Southwestern Boulevard property used to be the home of Advanced Auto Electronics. The owner of that business retired, said David P. Seider of Pyramid Brokerage Co., who marketed the property for sale. West Herr is painting the facility and upgrading the office area in preparation for the move.

The site is across Big Tree Road from West Herr Toyota.

West Herr in the past couple of years has carried out renovations at a number of its dealerships, improving its facilities for Subaru, Dodge, Chrysler/Jeep, Kia and two Ford locations. The dealer group also plans renovations to its Nissan/Infiniti of Williamsville dealership, and its Jaguar facility in Amherst.

Automotive News last year ranked West Herr No. 20 among dealer groups in the country, based on the 28,500 new retail cars and trucks it sold in 2015.
