Two 19-year-old West Seneca men were arrested by Orchard Park police about 4:15 a.m. Sunday for allegedly preparing to race along Abbott Road.
Jacob Smith and Kyle Hanna were both pulled over at Abbott and Berg roads as they allegedly began spinning their tires, causing a loud disturbance and smoke while allegedly preparing to race along Abbott, according to Orchard Park police.
Both were charged with driving while intoxicated after they were taken to Orchard Park police headquarters for breath tests. Smith registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent and Hanna registered a reading of 0.15 percent, both well over the state's legal limit, according to police officials.
Smith was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and Hanna was charged with driving while intoxicated. Both were charged with speeding and making and unsafe starts at the intersection. Both were released to parents and ordered to appear in Orchard Park Town Court in two weeks.
