Buffalo man held on felony drug charge after Amherst traffic stop

Gerald A. Stroud, 31, of Buffalo, was arrested on a felony drug charge after he was pulled over by Amherst police on the I-290 near the Millersport Highway overpass early Friday morning, Amherst police said.

Officers reported finding narcotics and marijuana in his vehicle.

During an Friday afternoon arraignment, Stoud pleaded not guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and numerous traffic infractions.  Amherst Town Justice Geoffrey K. Klein ordered him to remain jailed without bail pending further court proceedings Monday.
