NPSL releases FC Buffalo's 2017 schedule

The full schedule has been announced for FC Buffalo's eighth season in the National Premier Soccer League.

The Wolves will play 12 league matches in 2017, home and away against the other six sides in the Midwest Region Great Lakes East Conference. FC Buffalo will play 6 home games, beginning May 20 versus the Dayton Dynamo. Of the home games, three are on Fridays, two on Saturdays and one on Sunday.

FC Buffalo will again play their home games at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium (2885 Main St.), just behind Bennett High School, notable historically because of its inclusion in the filming of "The Natural."

The good news for local soccer fans is the conference is the tightest geographically it's ever been. Opponents like Syracuse, Rochester, Erie and Cleveland are all within three hours from Buffalo, with Pittsburgh and Dayton sitting not much farther.

Here's FC Buffalo's schedule, with home dates in bold, for the 2017 season:

Saturday, May 20 – vs. Dayton Dynamo, 7 p.m.

Friday, May 26 – at Erie Commodores, 7 p.m.

Friday, June 2 – vs. Rochester River Dogz, 7 p.m.

Friday, June 9 – at AFC Cleveland, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 11 – vs. Syracuse FC, 2 p.m.

Wednesday, June 14 – at Syracuse FC, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 17 – vs. Fort Pitt Regiment, 7 p.m.

Friday, June 23 – at Rochester River Dogz, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 25 – at Dayton Dynamo, 4 p.m.

Friday, June 30 – vs. Erie Commodores, 7 p.m.

Sunday, July 9 – at Fort Pitt Regiment, 2 p.m.

Friday, July 14 – vs. AFC Cleveland, 7 p.m.

FC Buffalo is a professionally-run organization with amateur players that has competed since 2010 in the NPSL. The Wolves have made the playoffs in one season, 2013, but have helped develop a slew of players who've gone on to play professionally in the United States and overseas.
