LOCKPORT – A man who removed all the tires from two Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks at a Ransomville Chevy dealer last summer pleaded guilty to a felony Monday.
Brian E. Schmiege, 29, of C Street, Ransomville, faces up to four years in prison for second-degree auto stripping, and must pay restitution for the theft. Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Joel M. Grundy estimated the value of the four large tires at $8,900.
The crime occurred July 25 at Ki-Po Chevrolet. Schmiege is to be sentenced April 24 by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. Grundy said the plea deal also included a misdemeanor to be entered in Lewiston Town Court for an unrelated burglary case.
