A University at Buffalo student reported to UB police that she was the victim of an attempted sexual assault early Sunday morning in a dorm room on the university's North Campus, UB officials said in a statement.
According to alerts sent out to the UB community Sunday morning, the student reported to police that the incident took place at about 2:30 a.m. in a student's room in Porter Hall.
The student described the suspect as "a male with earrings, tattoo on his right arm, dark brown hair cut close to his head, average weight and possibly wearing a pink shirt," one of the UB statements about the incident read. He was seen leaving an area known as the "Porter Quadrangle."
University police, who have beefed up patrols in response, asked anyone with information about the incident to call them at 645-2222.
The first alert about the incident was texted and emailed out at 4:20 a.m., UB officials said.
