Beauts lose to Connecticut in home finale

The Buffalo Beauts finished up the home portion of their schedule with a 4-2 loss to the Connecticut Whale in HarborCenter on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo fell to 11 points in the standings, tied for third place with Connecticut in the National Women’s Hockey League.

The Whale had the better of the play for much of the day, but the game was still tied at 1-1 halfway through the contest. Then Haley Scarupa scored the go-ahead goal at 10:44 of the second period, and the Whale never trailed for the rest of the game.

Megan Bozek and Emily Janiga had goals for Buffalo, while goalie Brianne McLaughlin faced 37 shots.

The Beauts have two more games left on the schedule. They are at Boston on March 5 and at Connecticut on March 12.
