Megan Burns won the 100 freestyle, her third individual title of the meet, and was named outstanding swimmer as she led the University at Buffalo to its best finish ever in the Mid-American Conference women's swimming and diving championships in Oxford, Ohio. Burns won in 48.14 seconds and teammate Julia Box won the 200 butterfly as UB took third place in the team scoring behind Akron and host Miami (Ohio).
Box swam 1:59.46 as she and second-place finisher Soarise Palu-Benson of the Bulls broke beat the former school mark. UB's 400 freestyle relay team capped the performance with a second place.
Burns previously had won the 50 and 200 freestyle events.
