Letter: There are no safe havens for federal fugitives in U.S.

There are no safe havens for federal fugitives in U.S.

Allow me to rectify a couple things for readers. There are no sections of U.S. Code that allow sanctuary to fugitives in sanctuary cities, churches or mayor’s houses. There are sections, however, that deal with harboring fugitives. It’s a felony! There are no safe havens for federal fugitives in the USA. Law enforcement must follow certain laws to gain entry, but gain entry we did and will continue to do.

We dragged more than one fugitive out of churches, mosques and temples during my career and arrested at least one “priest.” If a federal agent doesn’t want his picture taken, which does happen, he doesn’t go on arrests.

I have recently heard “immigration” lawyers make incorrect statements about their specialty, immigration law. The Supreme Court has never ruled against a sitting president who utilized the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act to ban aliens.
