The Buffalo Bandits took a step toward cleaning up a somewhat crowded transition position with a trade with Calgary on Wednesday.
The Bandits sent Mitch Wilde to the Roughnecks. Buffalo also gave up a conditional second-round pick in either 2017, 2018 and 2019. In return Calgary sent Buffalo second-round picks in 2017 and 2018.
Wilde was a second-round pick of the Bandits in 2013. He had 14 goals and 29 assists in Buffalo for 43 points in 47 games. Wilde had four points in six games this season.
The Bandits have used rookies Justin Martin and Tim Edwards at times this season, and this trade might clear out a little roster space to give them more playing time.
The Bandits host Toronto on Saturday night.
