Hamburg to offer discounts on recreation programs at expo

Hamburg's Senior Community Center opened two years ago on Southwestern Boulevard, and while there's many visitors to the gym, Adult Day Services, workout room, classrooms and dining room, the former Frontier Central Learning Center there gets less use.

But visitors can get a look at the whole building at 4540 Southwestern Blvd., and get some discounts on select recreation programs, during an open house/summer recreation expo and chicken barbecue from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 25. Tickets to the barbecue, which will end at 2:30, will only be sold in advance at the center.

The Youth, Recreation and Senior Services will outline its programs and offer discounts on select programs. The billiards room will be open and costumed characters Scooby Doo and Land Shark will visit. There will be magic shows, music by 23 Skidoo in the 1950s dining room and face painting.

Also on display will be information on Hamburg’s adaptive recreation programs and demonstrations, Woodlawn Beach, Hamburg Town Park, 18 Mile Creek Golf Course, Hook a Kid on Golf, playgrounds, tennis programs and Woodlawn Adventure Camp and Day Camp Friendship.
