Shooting on Roma Avenue kills man in 20s

A man in his early 20s was fatally struck by gunfire Tuesday evening in the 100 block of Roma Avenue, according to Buffalo police.

Northeast District officers responded to the call just before 5:45 p.m.  The victim was declared dead at the scene, police said. The Erie County Medical Examiner responded to the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m. A handful of neighbors looked on.

Tuesday night's shooting is the 11th homicide in the city this year and third this month.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call or text the Buffalo Police Department's  Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255.
