Driver charged with aggravated DWI after rear-ending tour bus in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated Saturday night after her car rear-ended a stopped tour bus with 49 people aboard, police said.

No one aboard the Covered Wagon Tours bus was injured in the crash, which occurred about 9:42 p.m. in the 7200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Police said the bus was stopped for a red light when struck from behind by the car, which was changing lanes.

Kashunta C. Gilmer, 21, of Walnut Avenue, posted a blood-alcohol level of  0.22, almost triple the legal limit, police said. She also was charged with moving from a lane unsafely, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
