Man tried to remove impounded car from tow truck, faces felony charge

A man faces a felony charge after he tried to forcibly remove his impounded vehicle from a tow truck, according to Buffalo police.

Joseph Farruggia, 40, no permanent address, was charged by Buffalo police just before 8 p.m. Thursday in front of 38 Dakota St. with felony third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Farruggia tried to remove his impounded 2001 Dodge from the flatbed of the tow truck owned by Elite Towing, according to police.  Farrugia fought with the tow truck driver and also caused more than $250 in damages, police sadi

. Farrugia also has an outstanding Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority warrant, police reported.
