Indian restaurant and grocery planned for Sycamore Street

A two-story house on Sycamore Street will become a take-out Indian restaurant and grocery store.

The Buffalo Planning Board this week approved a proposal to convert 1012 Sycamore St. into a mixed-use building, with a take-out Indian restaurant and grocery store called Chadni Bazaar.

The building will have two apartments upstairs. Designed by Eco-Logic Studio, the project includes adding a storefront so that the tandoori ovens in the kitchen will be exposed to public view to attract patrons.

"It looks like it will be a net improvement on the street," Board Vice Chairwoman Cynthia Schwartz said.
