Town and county taxes for Amherst residents are due by Wednesday, said Town Clerk Marjory Jaeger who announced alternative methods and extended hours for collection.
Residents may pay by mail, in person, online and at select M& T bank branches, said Jaeger.
- Full payments can be made by check or money order at select M & T Bank locations (check the back of your tax bill for those locations).
- Online payment (service fees apply) by e-check, credit and debit cards can be made at www.amherst.ny.us.
- In person, the Clerk’s Office accepts cash, checks, money orders, credit and debit cards (credit and debit cards have a service fee).
- Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before Wednesday to avoid penalties.
The Clerk's Office in Amherst Town Hall, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, will be open for an extra 1½ hours, until 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 631-7021 for more info.
