Batavia man, 33, dies after his car hits tree in Alexander

ALEXANDER - A Batavia man died Saturday night in a one-car accident in the Town of Alexander, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.

At about 9 p.m., the Emergency Dispatch Center received a call reporting that a car crashed into a tree on Seward Road and that the driver was unresponsive.

When patrols arrived, they determined that the driver – Jayson W. Dersham, 33,  of East Main Street Road – was dead.

According to law enforcement officials, Dersham was traveling northbound on Seward when his vehicle traveled off the east shoulder of the road and hit a large tree. The car rotated counterclockwise and came to rest facing west.

Dersham was pronounced dead at the scene by Genesee County Coroner Jeff McIntire from injuries in the crash.
