Two Niagara Falls men accused of shoplifting $1,800 in goods from Walmart

Two Niagara Falls men were arrested Friday in an alleged shoplifting incident at a Walmart Supercenter in the Town of Lockport, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

Henry Lee McGriff, 32, and James V. Caffey, 57, were accused of stealing over $1,800 in merchandise from the store. The men were stopped by Erie County Sheriff's deputies, who observed the suspected stolen merchandise inside the vehicle in which the pair were traveling.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said both men have been identified as suspects in numerous other retail crimes throughout Niagara and Erie counties in recent days.

The Niagara Falls Police Department has warrants on both McGriff and Caffey.  Also, several other agencies in Erie and Niagara counties will have charges pending against both men, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.

Both men have been charged with grand larceny in connection with the Walmart Supercenter in Lockport incident. McGriff  was held on $750 bail and Caffey on $500 bail. They are both scheduled to return at 9 a.m. Feb. 17 to  Lockport Town Court.
