LOCKPORT - A Niagara Falls man who bit off parts of another man's ear during a domestic violence incident on New Year's Eve accepted a plea offer Thursday.
Craig M. Moss, 33, of Seventh Street, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault. He could be sent to state prison for as long as four years when he returns before Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III on March 30.
Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth R. Donatello said the biting occurred while Moss was choking the other man. He said Moss bit off part of the top of the victim's ear, which doctors were able to reattach, as well as part of the bottom of the ear, which could not be saved.
