Girl scalded in cafeteria attack at Newfane High School

NEWFANE - A 16-year-old Newfane High School student will be seeing a burn specialist after being assaulted with a bowl of hot spaghetti at the school, sheriff’s deputies said.

The victim was eating in the school cafeteria one morning last week when a 15-year-old boy, also a student at the school, dumped the bowl of hot food over the victim’s head, causing burns to her scalp, forehead, ear and face. She was treated at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport but will require follow-up care from a specialist, according to reports.

The boy was given a juvenile appearance ticket returnable Feb. 16 at the Lockport Probation Department.
