GOING DEEP – Scuba diver Mark Modlezewski from the Buffalo Aqua Club will be the guest speaker at a meeting of the Greater Buffalo Bottle Collectors Association at 7 p.m. today in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 205 Longmeadow Road, Eggertsville. He will show videos of shipwrecks and display items he has recovered during his dives in Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

HEARTFELT – The Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, will hold a Valentine’s Day celebration for youngsters from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Children will have a chance to decorate valentines of their own and create valentines for residents of nursing homes.

SCENE MAKERS – The Buffalo-Niagara LGBTQ History Project will celebrate Black History Month by presenting “An Homage to Buffalo’s Ballroom Scene” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Sugar City, 1239 Niagara St. A multimedia show, it will include photographs of ballroom scenes locally and elsewhere. Suggested donation is $5.

INPUT WANTED – The second step toward creating a Nature Play Area will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Beaver Meadow Audubon Center, 1610 Welch Road, North Java.
A focus group session will be led by Rusty Keeler, author of “Natural Playscapes: Creating Outdoor Play Environments for the Soul,” and a designer of nature play areas around the country. Keeler and those attending will discuss possible nature play elements in thematic areas that were suggested by focus groups in December.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the session. Those who attend can walk the center’s 8 miles of trails and view the exhibits in the nature center before and after the program. GLORIOUS HORNS – The Buffalo Brass Choir, an ensemble of brass and percussion players under the direction of Nick Del Bello, will be featured in a liturgically-themed program, "A Requiem in Our Time," in the next Concert in the Church at 7 p.m. Saturday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 73 Adam St., City of Tonawanda. The ensemble also will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday in Blessed Trinity Church, 317 Leroy Ave. All are welcome. Suggested donation is $10.
