UB basketball team adds transfer from Missouri for next year

The University at Buffalo men's basketball team has added a transfer point guard from the University of Missouri.

He is Wes Clark, and he played for UB coach Nate Oats at Romulus High School in Michigan. Clark was dismissed from the Missouri team for academic reasons in February 2016.

He has enrolled in UB for this semester. The Bulls do not have any scholarships available this season, so he is paying his own way to take classes. Clark will be eligible to play for the Bulls after the fall semester of 2017 and next season will be his last year of eligibility, UB confirmed. Essentially he will be able to play about 21 games next season.

Clark, a four-star recruit of out Romulus, had started all of Missouri's 25 games up until his dismissal and was the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 9.8 points a game. Missouri released a statement last Feb. 16 stating Clark had "failed to meet academic expectations of the Mizzou Athletics Department."

Clark made 45 starts over three seasons for Missouri. He had 74 assists and 23 steals in 25 games as a junior. He averaged 10.1 points a game as a sophomore.
