You probably already have roses and chocolate for your valentine, but what can you do for a night out? Helium Comedy Club is combining love and laughter with a special Valentine’s Day show featuring comedian Tammy Pescatelli.
A national audience discovered Pescatelli during her run on the NBC reality show, “Last Comic Standing.” The “American Idol”-type show featured a number of working comedians looking to become headliners or take their career to the next step.
“That show was one of the first reality shows, so we weren’t familiar with what exactly was going on,“ Pescatelli told The Buffalo News in 2015. “We were all friends, for the most part. For me, it really wasn’t as much about the competition as it was the exposure.”
Since then, she’s appeared on programs like “The View” and Opie and Anthony, and has performed with Jenny McCarthy’s “Dirty Sexy Funny” show. Pescatelli starred and produced in her own reality show, “A Standup Mother,” that featured the comedian balancing work and home life. Her latest special, “Finding the Funny,” is available on Netflix.
The adults-only show begins at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St.). General admission tickets are $20 (box office, online).
