Peter U. Bergmann, the president and chief executive officer of Sisters Hospital, is leaving to take a similar position with University Hospitals Parma Medical Center in Ohio.
Bergmann has managed the Catholic Health system hospital since 2006. He will have the title of president at Parma, a part of the big multi-hospital system headquartered in Cleveland, when he starts March 6.
"Peter's collaborative leadership style and relationship‑built successes will benefit our patients as we continue to expand and align UH's West Side service offerings," Richard A. Hanson, president of the University Hospitals Community Hospitals and Ambulatory Network, said in a statement.
Catholic Health plans to conduct a search for a replacement after Bergmann leaves in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Mark Sullivan, the hospital system's executive vice president and chief operating officer, will serve as interim president and chief executive officer of Sisters, said spokeswoman JoAnn Cavanaugh.
Bergmann earned a bachelor's from from Alfred University and a master's in health administration from Cornell University.
