Bond, Schoeneck names new leaders for Buffalo office

Bond, Schoeneck & King named James J. Rooney as managing member of the law firm's Buffalo office, and Mitchell J. Banas Jr. as deputy managing member.

Rooney is a labor and employment law attorney who has practiced for more than 20 years. Banas has extensive experience in complex commercial and tort litigation of all varieties, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Syracuse-based Bond absorbed Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel at the start of 2016. Bond already had a Buffalo office, but the deal expanded its office's services.

Bond's Buffalo office for the past year was led by Daniel P. Forsyth and Joseph P. Kubarek, who served as co-managing members.

Forsyth and Kubarek had spent part of 2015 preparing for the law firm combination and all of last year leading the combined office, and were ready to transition back into their current roles as partners, said Kathleen B. Leach, director of marketing for Bond. The Buffalo office has a total of 65 lawyers and staff members.
