Two more things to know about Sabres-Devils

NEWARK, N.J. – It's your lucky day. After getting Five Things to Know about the Sabres and Devils earlier, here are two more.

1. Robin Lehner will get the start

While Anders Nilsson has impressive numbers against New Jersey, Lehner will get the chance to continue his hot streak. The Sabres goaltender is 5-1-1 with a .928 save percentage in 2017.

Cory Schneider will start for New Jersey.

With five games this week, the Sabres will use both their goalies. Nilsson could start Tuesday when the Sabres host San Jose.

“It’s going to feel like a nine-day week with the amount of games we’ve got,” Buffalo coach Dan Bylsma said in Prudential Center.

2. Derek Grant’s status a mystery.

When the Sabres waived the center last month, they had no intention of sending him to Rochester. When they reclaimed him Monday, they promptly sent him to Rochester.

Bylsma would not elaborate on the claim or where Grant will play.

“That would be information privy only to me at this point and not to you,” Bylsma said. “We got him today at noon. Being the only team that claimed him this time around, we could make that transaction that way.”

Will he come to Buffalo?

“Got the same lineup tonight,” Bylsma said.
