Scary to see Bannon wield so much power
The more I read about Steve Bannon, the more nervous I become. He is playing an increasingly important role in the Trump administration. He will now sit on the National Security Council.
Regardless of who you voted for in the election, I choose to believe that most Americans would be opposed to what the New Yorker reported on Nov. 14, 2016. Bannon told a writer for the Daily Beast in late 2013: “I’m a Leninist … Lenin wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal, too. I want to bring everything crashing down to destroy all of today’s establishment.”
The most recent executive order that is, in my opinion, a back-door ban on Muslims entering the United States from mostly Muslim countries (but curiously not Saudi Arabia) was hastily enacted and resulted in chaos and disruption all over the country. Even if you believe that we need to be kept safe from radical Islamic terrorism, this is not the way to go about it. But this is Bannon’s way.
Now he is urging our media to “keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while.” Although there are those who will argue that Bannon is not a racist, misogynist or anti-Semite, he is aligned with the alternative right movement and supports this kind of hateful rhetoric. The alt-right actually supports neo-Nazis. I will not be a bystander!
