Bank on Buffalo expects more hires as it opens branches

Bank on Buffalo plans to convert its downtown Buffalo location to a full-service branch either this month or next.

The division of Pennsylvania-based CNB Bank already has a loan production office in the Electric Tower, but has received regulatory approval to offer full-scale branch services.

Bank on Buffalo will also open two branches in the spring in the suburbs: at 3049 Orchard Park Road in Orchard Park and 5190 Sheridan Drive in Amherst. Both of those locations are former First Niagara Bank branches. Altogether, Bank on Buffalo has hired 10 people and expects to hire more.

CNB Bank's fourth quarter profits fell 8.5 percent from a year ago, to $5.04 million. For all of 2016, CNB's net income fell 7.7 percent, to $20.5 million.
