Bills officially hire McGeoghan, four other assistants

The Buffalo Bills have hired Phil McGeoghan as wide receivers coach and four other assistants, the team announced in a press release Thursday.

The 37-year-old McGeoghan has spent the past two seasons as the wide receivers coach at East Carolina. Prior to that he spent three years with the Miami Dolphins as assistant wide receivers coach.

Also announced were the following coaching additions:

• John Egorugwu, defensive quality control coach. He was a staff assistant with Baltimore Ravens the past two years, working with the linebackers.

• Marc Lubick, offensive quality control/assistant quarterbacks coach. He was the assistant wide receivers coach in Denver the past two seasons.

• Matt Smiley, assistant special teams coach. He served in the same capacity with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013-16.

• Bill Teerlinck, assistant defensive line coach. He spent the past four seasons as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Nevada.
