Two Buffalo police officers hurt responding to incident

Two Buffalo police officers were injured Thursday while responding to a domestic incident in the first block of Carl Street, a Buffalo police spokesman said.

According to police, the officers arrived on the scene just before 2 p.m. and encountered a fight between at least three members of a family.

Trying to break up the fight, the two officers – who are female, and whose names were not released – were injured, according to police.

Both were transported to Erie County Medical Center, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said a 14-year-old girl was taken into custody following the incident. Charges were pending Thursday.
