West Seneca Central School Board members are expected to hire a consultant Thursday night to search for a new superintendent.
The School Board scheduled a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the district offices, 674 Potters Road, to approve a contract with School Leadership to conduct the search. Board members met earlier this month with prospective search consultants. School Leadership has offices in Amherst, Malverne, and Exeter, N.H.
Superintendent Mark J. Crawford announced in November that he would retire in March, and later agreed to stay in the post until May 27.
The board is expected to go into executive session at 5:30 p.m. to confer with the district's lawyer, and to discuss the contract with the consultant firm. It is expected to return to public session at approximately 9 p.m. Thursday. Approving the contract is the only action item on the board's agenda.
Crawford, 65, was hired as West Seneca superintendent in 2010.
